Leadership Transition at the CRNA

Effective March 19, 2026, Joy Peacock has concluded her role as Chief Executive Officer and Registrar of the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).

The College’s Council acknowledges Ms. Peacock's nine years of leadership at the CRNA. During her tenure, the organization advanced its Right-touch relational regulatory model, navigated significant provincial legislative reform, led the profession's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and experienced substantial growth in registration numbers.

Council has appointed Andrew Douglas as Interim Chief Executive Officer and Registrar, effective March 19, 2026. Mr. Douglas brings deep experience in regulatory governance and Council operations having served on the CRNA’s executive leadership team for several years. Council has full confidence in his leadership through this transition.

CRNA's regulatory mandate is unchanged and all regulatory functions, including registration, complaints, investigations, hearings and professional oversight, continue without interruption.
