As a collaborator in Alberta's health care ecosystem, the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is committed to supporting employers in fostering a professional, competent and ethical nursing workforce through Right-touch relational regulation.
The CRNA continues its two webinar series to support applicants, registrants and health care partners in navigating our processes and understanding our role as a regulator.
All registrants of the CRNA are required to renew their permits on an annual basis and employers have a responsibility to ensure that their employees have active practice permits.
Key Dates
Individuals who do not complete their renewal application by Sept. 30, 2025 will not be able to practise in the upcoming practice year, beginning Oct. 1, 2025.
Additional Information
Employers can easily verify the permit statuses of their employees at any time using the CRNA’s Employer Lookup.
Important note: when verifying employee permit information, please ensure you are using the approved CRNA application above. If using third-party applications or tools, the CRNA cannot verify the integrity of the information provided.
May 12 to 18 is National Nursing Week, a Canada-wide event that highlights the work of nurses and the importance of the nursing profession to the health and well-being of Canadians.
The CRNA looks forward to being part of the effort to recognize the nursing profession and increase awareness about the important role regulation plays in protecting the public.
Watch our social media during National Nursing Week. We're on on Facebook, LinkedIn and X.
The CRNA's office will be closed on May 19 in observance of Victoria Day. During this closure applicants and registrants can still access their accounts at any time through College Connect. Employers may also access the Find a Nurse tool at any time.
