Instructional Designer

Instructional Designer 

Are you passionate about improving the knowledge and skills of others? Do you enjoy developing and designing new learning programs from the beginning and helping contribute to their success? 

The CRNA is recruiting for an Instructional Designer to join our Learning and Development team. This role will work under the Manager, Learning and Development and is a temporary full-time job opportunity starting in July 2024 until July 2026 with a chance of turning into a permanent position after that time. 

The CRNA is in the process of setting up a new Learning and Development program that will aim to create learning programs, eLearning modules and other digital learning materials that will enhance the knowledge, understanding and skills of the CRNA's staff, registrants, applicants and the public. In this role, you will join others to design, develop, implement and evaluate learning programs. You will create and execute effective instructional design strategies and tactics, collaborate with internal partners and subject matter experts to develop learning curriculum and write content. As part of our broader Strategy Execution team, you will work with others across the organization to deliver organizational excellence in learning programs and foster continuous improvement. This role will begin designing and developing learning programs for the CRNA's role as a regulator, its primary regulatory functions and internal operations, while also supporting the maintenance of our current learning programs. The role will grow to support further learning initiatives at the CRNA. 

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to determine learning outcomes, write, review and revise content to ensure alignment with the CRNA’s policies, procedures and frameworks.
  • Write content for learning resources and materials including eLearning modules, video scripts, storyboards, job aids, one-pagers and other learning materials as required.
  • Utilize learning technologies, create author learning materials, lessons and courses.
  • Monitor learner activities, course completion, assessments and feedback.
  • Develop asynchronous learning materials that utilize instructional strategies, assessments, eLearning interactive elements, visuals, graphics, audio, video and more.
  • Collect and apply feedback on learning programs to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate learning resources to ensure they remain relevant, accurate and up to date.  
  • Develop and apply ways to monitor the completion of learning materials.  
  • Utilize technology to enhance learning experiences.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal partners and subject matter experts.
  • Remain up to date on the latest best practices for instructional design and learning technologies.  

What You Possess   

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in instructional design, education or another relevant discipline.
  • Minimum three years of experience in instructional design and creating learning programs.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to convert technical knowledge into meaningful plain language that resonates with any learning audience.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully designing, developing, implementing and evaluating learning programs.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues and subject matter experts at all levels of the organization.
  • Technology skills in Microsoft 365, Articulate Rise and Storyline 360 is preferred.
  • Experience in graphic and video design is an asset.
  • Willingness to listen, learn, bring new ideas and share your passion.
  • Strong initiative, judgment, creative abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stay organized while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent team building skills with ability to contribute to a positive work environment. 

What We Offer

  • A temporary full-time employment opportunity starting July 2024 through to July 2026.
  • A competitive salary between $65,000 to $74,000.
  • Extended health and dental benefits package, including several resources to support mental health and financial wellness.
  • Work environment is remote/hybrid.
  • 7.25 hours per day from Monday through Friday.
  • Earned vacation days at a monthly rate that equates to 15 days per year to start.
