We are pleased to announce Alison Todd, a third-year bilingual nursing student at Campus Saint-Jean, University of Alberta is the recipient of the CARNA Centennial Scholarship.
This scholarship was created in partnership with the Canadian Nurses Foundation in honour of CARNA’s Centennial. The opportunity was open to 3rd or 4th year Alberta nursing students with a parent or grandparent that was/is an RN in Alberta.
“I have been fortunate to grow up surrounded by a family of compassionate people, from whom I learned by example how to care for others,” says Alison, “My mom is one of my most important role models and is also a registered nurse.”
Thanks to support through this scholarship, Alison hopes to work in global nursing and First Nations populations in rural northern communities, including Francophone communities in Northern Alberta. “I look forward to becoming a nurse and acquiring more tools that will enable me to help others in a time of need,” says Alison.
