Registered Nurses employed in the following situations must receive approval from CARNA's Registration Committee to use the title “RN” or “nurse” while engaging in the practice and must receive approval to report nursing practice hours to meet the minimum hour requirement in order to obtain renewal of a RN practice permit:

• work in which regulated health professionals other than registered nurses (RNs) can be employed
• As a RN in a work environment other than a Regional Health Authority (RHA), physician’s office, nursing home or through self-employment
• In work that the CARNA member interprets as registered nursing practice but where the employer does not require a RN as a condition of employment
