ARNET provides educational supports for all levels of educational activities. The funds are allocated regionally and equitably to qualified registered nurses applicants across the province.

Educational Funding Reimbursements
This type of funding provides partial reimbursement assistance for nursing education (self-paid) in the following 3 categories:

Event Funding - provides financial assistance to attend conferences, workshops and seminars (2 application deadline dates per year)
Specialty Nursing Certification Funding – provides financial assistance for specialty nursing certification programs and examinations (2 application deadlines per year)
Degree Level Funding – provides financial assistance for degree level studies (Annual August 30th deadline)

Alberta Health Workforce Action Plan Funding
ARNET has been appointed to administer designated professional development funding on behalf of the Alberta Government. The funding strategy, developed by three government departments, provides educational supports in 3 specific study categories:

• Doctoral level nursing studies with educational, leadership or research focused outcomes;
• Current CARNA NP's who have not completed all requirements for masters level programs;
• Specialty nursing education programs encompassing both theory and clinical practicum components in:
  • Labour and Delivery Nursing specialty or
  • Operating Room Nursing specialty or RN First Assist programs
